News Susie and Euan had a little baby boy - Ralph Robert - on 22nd May 2009! He arrived weighing 7lbs and with a full head of dark hair (not red as expected, but there's still time!) Susie and Ralph are often to be found in the Farm Shop or Deli - just 'popping in' to see if all is okay - so you may well bump into them. Thanks to all the Shepherd's team for holding the fort whilst Susie enjoys spending quality time with Ralph and gets to grips with motherhood! Goodbye and good luck to Becky - we were really sad to say farewell to Becky recently, who has worked at the Farm Shop and got to know many customers since she joined us in March, and been a valued member of our small team. This delicious local milk is pasteurised on the organic farm where the Vaughn's herd of 80 'Ladies' are milked. Shepherd's Deli - proud winners of Newent in Bloom Shop Window Competition (Summer 2008) We are delighted to have won the Shop Window competition and are proud to have contributed to help Newent look it's very best for the Newent in Bloom judging. The theme of this year's competition was 'Local Roots' so of course our window display featured a range of local produce, some still growing! The centre piece was Susie's creation of the word ' Newent' using local strawberries, cherries, raspberries, blackberries and blackcurrants (which she had to re-do with fresh fruit every few days to keep it looking it's best!).
Second outlet, Shepherd's Deli, now open! (April 2008) April saw the opening of our second shop, Shepherd's Deli, in Newent town centre. We have given the premises a fresh new look and added many great local products. We are very much looking forward to developing the business further, including creating a range of our own products from our kitchen for sale in both of our shops.
New Products We never stop looking out for great new local producers and products - recently we have added to our range Trealy Farm Charcuterie, wonderful free range air dried meats and salamis, and also Romy Cuisine, hand made terrines and meals made in Hay-on-Wye. We are looking forward to a new range of local wines, ciders and spirits at the Farm Shop. |
